Collection: WEINGUT RUDOLF FÜRST

The Fürst family has been growing vines in Franken since 1638. Paul and Monika Fürst built the current estate in 1979, with their son Sebastian joining in 2007. From the early days, it was Paul’s vision to make world class Spätburgunder. The estate has achieved a reputation for their Grosses Gewächs reds that only a handful of German producers have managed. The Fürsts also grow Frühburgunder, Riesling, Weissburgunder, and Silvaner. There are 20 hectares of vines with some high density vineyards planted at 16,000 vines per hectare.

The style is ethereal and pure with spice and savoury depth, all framed by a gentle structure.  The Spätburgunders are extremely age-worthy, particularly the three GG bottlings of Centgrafenberg, Hundsrück, and Schlossberg. The estate ferments with whole clusters, up to 100% in some cuvées, for more savoury and spice characters. VDP estate.
