Domaine Derey is from a lesser known village in Couchey, a village that is sold under the name of it’s better known neighbor Marsannay. Couchey is located north of Fixin and south of Marsannay. The Derey family has been farming these vineyards since 1850 and remains a true family business to this day. The parents, Pierre and Suzanne, run the estate with their 3 sons Maxime, Romain, and Pierre-Marie. The family uses traditional methods to work the vineyards and gentle techniques that respect the soil.

During harvest, the family will control the yields with selective pruning and manual harvesting which enables the family to carry out the initial selection to ensure only the best grapes are used. During vinification, great care is taken to create unique wines that fully express the distinctive character of Marsanny.
