Collection: Domaine Des Terres De Velle

Domaine Terres de Velle is an estate based in the Burgundian village of Auxey-Duresses from husband and wife, Fabrice and Sophie Laronze. They are both Burgundian, but neither grew up in a winemaking family. They both previously worked for famed Burgundian négociant Alex Gambal. Each year this estate produces 16 different cuvées from 6 hectares in the Côte de Beaune. In 2020, they purchased the vineyards of Domaine Dublère when vigneron Blair Pethel retired. This acquisition came with two impressive plots of Corton-Charlemagne that total over 1 hectare.

The wine style here tends to be on the richer-fruited and texturally broad side with moderate use of new oak. The white wines aren’t chiseled and reductive, so they tend to be relatively approachable when young. The reds are destemmed, yet still show savoury spice. This is an estate to watch as Sophie and Fabrice have some top quality vineyards in their portfolio.
