Collection: WEINGUT KNEBEL

Weingut Knebel, located in the village of Winningen, is a small family estate (8 hectares) that was established in 1990 by Rheinhard and Beate Knebel. Today, their son Matthias Knebel farms vines clinging to some of the steepest terraced vineyards in the world, only accessible by a monorail track. This is the warmest subregion of the Mosel Valley known as the Terrassenmosel.

The Knebel style is bracing, with a pillar of acidity, but balanced by ripe fruit, texture, and minerality. His wines often have a distinct savoury quality which gives them an added dimension. The wines are typically from four parcels with their own terroir and character: Hamm, Röttgen, Uhlen, and Brückstück. Hamm is distinctive for herbal and spicy notes, Röttgen for its fruit and power, Uhlen for its minerality, and Brückstück for its balance of concentration and elegance. Knebel is a rising star in the Mosel and the wines deliver stellar quality at every price point. VDP estate.
